Close to end of season

We are now in the last months of Castor harvest in India. It is already hot – April and May are the warmest months in Gujarat normally. Since the 15th of April temperatures are between 36 – 43°C during day time. People do work outside only from 07.00 – 13.00 hrs.

May will still be hot with a temperature drop in June, when the monsoon will start. For rainfed fields the harvest is already over. About 1/3 of farmers in Gujarat are still rainfed. Those farmers working with irrigation, can still harvest.
