With the start of October 2022 the monsoon period for the southwest monsoon in India  is over. In average 109% of rainfall were received compared to previous years. For Castor plantings we have seen an increase of > 100.000 hectares compared to last year. More than 880.000 hectare are planted with Castor compared to 740.000 hectare last year. As rainfalls started early we might see first pickings already in the second half of December 2022. Bigger volumes should be available from March 2023 onwards, when all farmers will be picking seeds. Plantings in India are still ongoing but should stop in about 2 weeks normally. The majority of the crops is planted.
