Castor Market Report January 2025

Happy New Year and all the best for 2025!!

In 2024 640.000mt of Castor oil was exported from India. This is about 9% more than in 2023. Reason for that was the expectation of increased pricing in Q1/2025. Currently there are less arrivals of seeds on the trading market, an indication that there are less seeds left on farms. 

According to our calculation about 300.000mt of seeds should be left based on the harvest figures and the exports. The total availability of seeds might slightly vary as of course some of it is processed already into oil or derivatives laying in factories in India.
