Monsoon prediction and impact on sowing

The monsoon period has started in India. For Castor planting the southwest Monsoon from June to September is the more important one. IMD and Skymet predict an above-normal rainfall of 106% of the long period average for the whole of India. For northwest India a normal rainfall is predicted. In the northeast a below normal rainfall. We see this also in Europe, there is enough rainfall but the distribution over Europa is challenging. The monsoon arrived this time early on 24th of May – about 8 days earlier – the earliest in 16 years. 70% of the total Indian rainfalls in this period...
