Castor Market Report September 2019

The plantings in India for castor are still going on. There are still about 3 - 4 month to go before fresh castor seeds will come into the trading market in India. After the first picking of matured capsules with castor beans they still need to be dried, opened and the seed taken out, need to be dried again. This normally take 1 – 2 weeks in addition. Some farmers do plant with the start of the monsoon or slightly before, they are the first who will harvest. Others do just wait to see how many rain they receive and decide in July / August what they will plant.
