Coronavirus and Castor International

During the meeting early this year in India, no Chinese guests or speakers were in attendance due to the coronavirus and imposed restrictions within China. For us, at the time, it all still seemed far away and we felt the virus would not reach us. Today is a completely different story, and we are struggling with the consequences of this virus all over the world. 

 In fact, at the moment of writing this this newsletter, India has announced a complete lockdown for the country. This means that production has been stopped and shipments are no longer possible. Considering the fact that India is the largest producer of Castor oil, this has a direct impact on our services. 

What does this mean for you? 

Naturally, we are making every effort to help our contract partners. Stockpiles are being utilised and we are in constant communication with castor oil producers from other countries. In addition, we are doing everything in our power to ensure deliveries reach our customers in Europe, despite restrictions currently in place. This sometimes requires the creativity and flexibility of our people, but we really do whatever we can.
