The monsoon arrived already in Gujarat with a delay of about 2 weeks. There was already one week delay when it started in Southern India, but due to the cyclone Vayu in the Arabian Sea the progress was further delayed by one week. The monsoon is most important for Asia as about 55% of south Asia farms are rain fed. The monsoon delivered 36% lower-than-normal rainfalls, so far, but this can be balanced depending on the current and coming rainfalls.
